Thumbs up Re: Thunder On The Neches
A big hats off to the sport rescue guys for their amazing work out there today.
One of the champ guys blew over right at the finish line. the boat was floating
upside down at about a 20 degree angle with the driver still in the capsule, I'm
guessing the driver was knocked out but i don't really know the details. the diver
was in the water checked on the driver and in a matter of seconds had climbed up
onto the bottom of the race boat had one end of his rope hooked on the bow eye and
the other attached to the jet ski and in perfect coordination and had the boat
pulled upright in what seemed like 5 seconds start to finish. absolutely an amazing job!
its guys like them that make the difference between living to play another day or attending another funeral.
Hats off again guys, that was truly great work!!! Darrel

From Greg Moss:
You 100% right Darrel. Very good work. It all happened right in front of where I was. very fast and exact. That boat flipped and they were in with the driver and heading to the dock fast. I didn't time it but it was literally seconds from the time the boat blew over until the diver had the boat right side up and heading to the dock and medical attention. Very well done.

From David Alaniz:
A tremendous event! Congratulations to all those that made this event go! To the rescue group - I tip my hat to each of you! According to my digital camera time from spash to cockpit up out of the water was very impressive. More on that at a later post.

Mike... As unfortunate as it is for Wyatt and the racing families I would like to HIGHLY COMMEND the Sport Rescue and EMS Personnel on the handling and control of the accident and Wyatt As you may be aware, Teva and I have been involved with motorsports safety and trauma at the Nashville Superspeedway involving everything from IRL, NASCAR ,AMA motorcycles and everything in between for several years The Professionalism ,Teamwork, handling, and medical interventions with Wyatt was flawless from my perspective.{on the side of the ramp with Jeff}.Their performance ranked right up there with any of the above mentioned safety teams we have worked with. Please pass on to these individuals our highest praise. Its comforting as a competitor to know the Knowledge, Skills and Professionalism is there for us should we need them. If there is anything we can do, PLEASE do not hesitate to contact us. Several concerned individuals {knowing our Medical background} approached us after chapel after Laurie forwarded the information on Wyatts condition, asking for an explanation of the injuries reported to have occured.ie. whats a T5? where is it? what can they do?, etc We explained what we could with the info we had which we hoped helped them understand a little better.
Thanks so much for the updates on Wyatts condition and contact information.
Sincerely,
Bobby & Teva Chaffin #91
